Swimwear Care Guide

Keep Your Swimwear Looking Its Best

Your Sol De Octubre swimwear is crafted to last — and a little care goes a long way. Follow these simple steps to protect the fabric and elastic after every wear.

After Every Wear

Rinse immediately. After exposure to salt water or chlorine, rinse your swimwear thoroughly in cool, clean water. Salt and chlorine can break down elastic fibers over time, so the sooner you rinse, the better.

Washing

  • Hand wash only in cool water with a small amount of mild, gentle detergent.
  • Avoid harsh detergents, bleach, fabric softeners, or any product with strong chemicals — these degrade elastic and can fade color.
  • Gently squeeze the fabric through the water. Do not rub or scrub.
  • Rinse thoroughly until no soap remains.

Drying

  • Do not wring or twist your swimwear — this distorts the shape and weakens the elastic.
  • Never tumble dry. Heat from dryers damages both the fabric and elastic.
  • Avoid direct sunlight when drying — UV exposure can fade color.
  • Lay flat in the shade and allow to air dry naturally.

Storage

Make sure your swimwear is completely dry before storing. Store flat or folded loosely — avoid hanging, which can stretch the fabric over time.

A Few Things to Avoid

  • Sitting on rough surfaces (concrete, tile) can cause pilling or snagging.
  • Sunscreen and tanning oils can stain — rinse as soon as possible after use.
  • Hot tubs and jacuzzis expose your swimwear to higher chemical concentrations; rinse immediately afterward.

Taking care of your swimwear helps it keep its shape, color, and fit — so you can enjoy it season after season. ☀️
